Our Story
Italy is known for many things, and we are proud to bring you a small part of that great heritage. A Cannoli is an Italian pastry that originated in Southern Italy in the 1800’s. This pastry was first made specifically for “Carnival” -similar to our Mardi Gras event. Eventually the Cannoli became a year- round treat.
Our recipe started in Southern Italy with the Bellotti Family. Italian culture is centered around family life and dinning together and handing down family recipes is one of the cornerstones to keeping family traditions. In the early 1900’s Therese Bellotti’s Great-Great-Grandmother immigrated to Queens, New York. There, she excited many with her famous Cannoli’s. Of course, this recipe was eventually handed down to Therese by her grandmother, and Teresa now lives in Pittsburgh. We are proud to bring you this Italian treat.
